Cline Teacher’s Artwork Accepted to Juried Show
Dura Dittmar, art teacher at Cline Elementary, had one of her personal art pieces accepted into the national juried competition sponsored by the National Society of Artists. This acrylic painting called ‘Circle of Life’ is to be considered for acrylic awards at the show that opens October 6-27 in Clear Lake. "Circle of Life is an acrylic painting of brown buzzards that I photographed at my grandparents place in Bandera,” Dittmar said.
The 27th National Juried Show is sponsored by the National Society of Artists. The show will be held at The Arts Alliance Center Clear Lake (TAACCL) on 2000 NASA Parkway, across from NASA. The exhibition will open Thurs., Oct. 6 and close Thurs., Oct. 27, 2011. The reception is Thursday, Oct. 6 from 6:30-8:30.
"Signature Membership" is an honorary recognition that is awarded to an artist after being accepted and shown in three NSA National Juried Shows. This awards the artist a NSA Medallion and the privilege of using "N.S.A" with their signature.
“I received Signature Membership status several years ago. I believe this is my 5th National Show. It's been a few years since I've competed and it's exciting to be involved again,” Dittmar said. “Getting ready for competitions motivates me to finish projects in progress, and start new pieces. This summer, I finished two acrylic paintings and two pastel pet portraits.”
